About Us

Dr. Alvin J Gwynn Jr.

New opportunities for ministries in the church include expanded work with young adults, a couples’ ministry, a men’s ministry, more emphasis on Bible study taught by the pastor, and a stronger Sunday school program. Potential areas of growth for the church include community outreach and the organization of internal structures and processes, which could include the development of a personnel manual and the creation of a personnel committee and a benevolent committee. Although the church membership consistently participates in training events sponsored by the United Baptist Missionary Convention of Maryland, many more opportunities are available for spiritual education and training.

My Church and I

My Church is the home of my soul, the altar of my devotion, the heart of my faith, the center of my affection, the highest place of my activities, and its unity, peace and progress concerns my life in this world and that, which is to come. I owe it my zeal, my benevolence, and my prayers. When I neglect its services, I injure its good name, I lessen its power, I discourage its members, I chill my soul and disown my allegiance to its Founder, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Message From Our Pastor Dr. Alvin J. Gwynn, Jr.

Welcome to Leadenhall Baptist Church! We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Leadenhall is a church that is committed to the work of salvation through Christ. We are following the ministry vision of Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” At Leadenhall, Jerusalem represents home and our commitment to build and empower the saints for the work of the ministry. Judea represents our immediate community of Sharp Leadenhall and South Baltimore which we are called to serve with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Samaria represents our nation and our call to mobilize during times of national hardship to those who are suffering, not only in this country but throughout the world. At Leadenhall we value your spiritual growth and provide many opportunities for you to engage in worship and study. On Sunday at 9:30 AM, we offer Church at Study and at 11:00 AM worship service begins. We also have noonday worship on Wednesday and Bible study on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.
